China Operations and Technology Lead

Location: Shanghai

Overview:

This role is responsible for driving the technology strategy for the country and would be partnering with the key business stakeholders in achieving the business objectives. Providing overall direction and leadership to a team responsible for meeting company and customer business objectives as it pertains to O&T in China. This role must effectively interact with all company business partners and customers in defining process management, assuring network health and maturity, as well as flawless customer support. This function oversees all the O&T functions in the country. Must effectively manage all budgetary aspects of this position in support of the China team ensuring all targets are met. Strong interaction with the respective functional leads for each of these areas is key to being successful in this role. Represent O&T within the country as the point person with the country’s executive management and drive a positive image of O&T.

Role:

  • Lead a diverse staff of professional and technical individuals responsible for all O & T functions within China to effectively and efficiently deliver products and services

  • Develop/modify country technology plans as per the business priorities with partnership with all O&T functions and country business. Help company and its customers achieve their business objectives through consultation, project management, testing and turn-up, as well as internal and external technical support

  • Provide business/technical direction in the several related disciplines

  • Responsible for developing process improvements in support of customer satisfaction.
    Ensure team meets goals and targets and adheres to regional “Time to Market” commitments, according to local Customer Delivery guidelines

  • Manage all budgetary activity within the country to meet established targets

  • Report on the performance of the teams activities to the Regional O&T lead

  • Build & maintain relationships with all business partners and customers

  • Create and manage complex operational plans that result in the accomplishment of business unit objectives

  • Building and managing the technology team

  • Coordinate country workforce management of all O &T resources in the country supporting local functions

  • Partners with the global functional managers to design objectives for the resources in country that support the function and the country as aligned to the overall O&T strategy
    Acts as a aggregator of all performance management issues within the country with direct input from the functional leads

  • Provides a consolidated view of the in country talent per the talent management process
    Collaborating with the country executive team to assess and recommend technologies in support of country needs

  • Key point of contact of country business planning for technology including forecasting and budgeting


All About You

  • Degree in Information Technology, Business or other related field preferred with significant experience in the payments industry; or equivalent combination of experience and education

  • Advanced knowledge of business or function, usually acquired through ten plus years of experience in the payments industry

  • Strong leadership and management skills; leads in project teams, coaching, counseling, and developing staff

  • Effective leadership with strong relationship building skills

  • Knowledge of network design and applications in support of worldwide network. This enables the leader to participate with his team and others in making analytical and strategic decisions as it pertains to these areas of focus

  • Expertise in existing best practices in the payments industry with knowledge of company specific products and services

  • Previous experience in managing activities across a cross functional organization

  • Strong Leadership and management skills

  • Strong presentation, facilitation, negotiation, and communication skills (both verbal and written)

  • Experience managing and developing high-potential teams

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively within all layers of an organization

  • Knowledge across several functions within a business unit or across several job areas

  • Ability to analyze complex issues and provide direction towards their resolution

  • Provide business/technical direction in several related disciplines with emphasis on implementation activities and support

  • Demonstrated success in developing strategy, creating and executing organizational and business plans with the ability to measure effectiveness


Working Conditions:
This function will require some international travel.
